Brittany Ferries Passenger Bridge

Associated British Ports (ABP) undertook a major infrastructure redevelopment at Millbay Docks, Plymouth, to modernise the Brittany Ferries terminal and strengthen its role as a key maritime gateway in the South West. Different View was commissioned to document the full journey of this transformation using a combination of cinematic drone footage,  event photography, and PR visuals.

This work supports ABP’s press and public engagement goals, while also showcasing Different View’s capability in delivering polished, narrative-driven maritime media content.

The Brief
Different View was recommended to AB Ports by an existing client to capture photography and videography documenting the construction of a new ferry passenger bridge at Millbay Port, Plymouth. This bridge aims to enhance customer experience significantly when boarding Brittany Ferries.

Our Approach
We combined aerial videography using the DJI Mavic 3 drone with  ground photography captured on a Canon 5D Mk IV. The project involved producing detailed aerial and ground images and a dynamic social media film showcasing the construction’s early stages and complexity.

Following our initial success, AB Ports invited Different View back in February to document further progress. We provided aerial stills and a concise one-minute progression video, highlighting ongoing developments and maintaining audience engagement.

Results
AB Ports expressed great satisfaction with our work, commissioning us once more to film the project’s official opening in May. Additionally, AB Ports has invited Different View to apply for inclusion on their approved supplier and contractor list, confirming our reputation for high-quality service and content delivery.
